If you haven’t booked a trip to South Lake Tahoe, you might want to do it quickly. According to an article by Time Out, the California vacation spot is a top trending travel destination for 2027.
Looking at results from Expedia and Hotels.com’s Unpack 27 report, analyzing trends in travel, searches for South Lake Tahoe have jumped by 195 percent — that’s almost triple the interest from the year before.
It’s not surprising South Lake Tahoe is drawing interest. Not only is it North America’s largest alpine lake, but it offers year-round activity with skiing in the winter and kayaking or paddleboarding in the summer.
Sedona, Arizona, took the fourth-place spot for Expedia’s Top Ten Destinations for 2027. That’s up 55 percent from the previous year. Known for its beautiful red-rock scenery, Sedona also offers yoga retreats, hiking, and wellness spas.
Rounding out the list are Hyogo, Japan; Punta del Este, Uruguay; Busan, South Korea; Holbox, Mexico; Perugia, Italy; The Tweed, New South Wales, Australia; Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada; and Chichester, United Kingdom.
