If you want to be a polite passenger, make sure you don’t do any of these things that frequent flyers identify as their travel pet peeves.

Everyone has a pet peeve or two. It could be someone cracking their knuckles or chewing with their mouth open. But when it comes to travel — flying particularly — there are a handful of pet peeves it seems almost everyone can agree upon. The Wetumpka Herald recently shared the results of a Going.com survey on the subject.

As part of its annual State of Travel report, the travel search website found that sniffles are travelers’ top pet peeve. Twenty-seven percent of people questioned say traveling with obvious cold symptoms and not wearing a mask is the “worst offense you can commit in air travel right now.”

Rounding out the top five pet peeves for frequent flyers is when people don’t use headphones to listen to music, which earned 15 percent of the votes, followed by “messing with the seat in front of you,” reclining at inopportune times, taking your shoes off, and hogging the middle armrest.
