There’s nothing worse than planning a vacation only to experience bad weather while you’re there. Fortunately, according to Travel & Leisure, some destinations practically guarantee good weather.
The article, which shares the results from U.S. News & World Report’s Best Countries ranking, reveals that Greece offers the most pleasant weather on earth. The capital city of Athens gets more than 300 sunny days each year. The temperature throughout Greece is also quite pleasant, with summer highs in the 80’s across the islands and mild winters. In Athens, the average temperature in January is a cool 48 degrees.
U.S. News and World Report named Portugal as having the second most pleasant climate, followed by Spain, Brazil, and Italy. Rounding out the top 10 are New Zealand, Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Australia.
This was the magazine’s eighth annual Best Countries ranking. It surveys more than 17,000 people about their perceptions of 87 nations, ranking destinations on 73 different attributes, one of which is how pleasant the country’s climate is perceived to be.
