A recent travel trend may have you scratching your head. Booking.com reports seeing a spike in seniors booking SKI trips. No, they’re not hitting the slopes, these are travelers who are “Spending Kids’ Inheritance.”
Research shows that 49 percent of baby boomers and 40 percent of the silent generation would prefer to spend their money on a trip of a lifetime rather than leaving an inheritance.
TravelAge West reported on this phenomenon as well. One travel agent it spoke to said following the pandemic, people were stuck home for a year and never want that to happen again. They’re saying, “I’m going to go and fulfill my complete bucket list.”
