American travelers are sticking closer to home this year. According to an article by Travel and Tour World, United States tourism is experiencing a significant surge in 2025, partially fueled by rising costs of international tourism and changing global trade policies. It found that national parks, scenic highways, and historically or culturally rich cities across the country are seeing record crowds.

A classic road trip is one of the best ways to see our great country. If this type of vacation appeals to you, consider planning a trip to experience iconic routes like Route 66 or the Pacific Coast Highway. There are plenty of hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path adventures to enjoy along the way.

Although our country’s history is relatively short compared to most other nations, there are still plenty of historical sites to see. Popular destinations are Boston, New Orleans and St. Augustine.

America is culturally rich as well. Depending upon your interest, places like Nashville, Tennessee, Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico, and Savannah, Georgia, or Charleston, South Carolina, might be more your style.

Our National Park system is another reason you should explore this great country. You’ll gain a true appreciation of why we’re called “America the Beautiful.” Nearly 340 million people spent time in the more than 400 national parks last year.
