If your childhood dream was to be an astronaut, you might just be able to fulfill it. Space Perspective, the world’s first carbon-neutral spaceflight experience company, announced on PR Newswire that it will begin crewed test flights later this year with paid customers — which it calls “Explorers” — launching into space in 2025.
Space Perspective recently released images of its first completed test capsule, Spaceship Neptune-Excelsior. Propelled by a giant SpaceBalloon, the pressurized capsule will offer a transformative six-hour journey to the edge of space. Its iconic spherical shape offers the roomiest interior — roughly double the size of Virgin Galactic’s Spaceship Two and Blue Origin’s New Shepard — and features large vertical windows, which allow for contiguous panoramic views.
The space tourism company has already sold more than 1,750 tickets, with each seat on Spaceship Neptune costing $125,000. For that price, Explorers will enjoy all the comforts of the world’s first Space Lounge offering a world-class meal and cocktail service, Wi-Fi, unprecedented views through the largest windows ever flown to space, and a proper restroom, which it calls the Space Spa.
