Let’s face it. Flying is boring. You’re confined to your seat. There’s really nothing to do other than sleep, read, or watch TV. The problem is not all airplanes offer an inflight entertainment center. Those are the little screens built into the back of the seat in front of you that allow you to watch TV — sometimes even live programming — and movies.

But what do you do on flights that don’t offer this technology or it’s not working? You’re in luck because we have a hack that lets you create your own inflight entertainment system.

This ingenious hack was featured in Golf.com’s Road Rules series. It features tips from travel pros — the professional golfers and caddies who spend their lives logging in hundreds of hours of flight times traveling from tournament to tournament. PGA Tour Pro Tyler McCumber recently shared how he makes his own entertainment system using his phone and an item readily available on all planes.

McCumber’s DIY hack is simple. First, take your cell phone out of its case. Then take the “throw up bag” and lay it in your phone case. Then put your case back on. The tight-fitting case will hold the bag in place. The last step is to hang the bag from the seatback tray. Pinch it between the tray and seatback and secure it with the locking notch at the top.

The magazine says this hack will hold your phone at eye level so you can watch your favorite shows or stream movies hands-free and without straining your neck looking down for hours.
